The Founding Legacy
of Rho Mu Lambda Chapter

In the heart of Waycross, Georgia, a vision was born—one rooted in brotherhood, uplift, and the enduring aims of Alpha Phi Alpha. Brothers Luther Jones and A.W. Myrick dared to dream of a chapter that would unite men of purpose across Coastal Georgia. Their idea quickly gained momentum, and on Saturday, December 15, 2001, that dream took form.

Joined by Brothers Eugene Johnson, Franklin Pinckney, Huey Spearman, Fer-Rell Malone, Terrell Jacobs, and Larry Raimey, the founding circle expanded, bound by a shared commitment to excellence and service. Together, these trailblazers formally chartered the Rho Mu Lambda Chapter, laying the foundation for a legacy that continues to shine.

On May 11, 2002, their efforts were officially recognized with the granting of the chapter charter—an affirmation of their vision and a call to action for generations to come.

Today, Rho Mu Lambda stands as a beacon of leadership and unity, drawing strength from the diverse communities of Camden, Glynn, McIntosh, Pierce, Ware, and Wayne counties. From these roots, the chapter has grown into a powerful force for scholarship, advocacy, and love for all mankind—uplifting Coastal Georgia with the spirit of Alpha.
